If you’ve got a presence on Google +, you’re off to a good start. But there are plenty of ways to further enhance your G+ profile that can help you be found more easily in search engines, get more views on your blog content, and find more followers.
Fill Out Your Profile in Detail
Don’t be lazy and just have a one-sentence description of your business! This is your chance to shine with dazzling copy and beautiful images that will entice people to come to your store or restaurant.
Include a link to your site, as well as your operating hours and contact information. Essentially, if this is the only place a potential customer visits, they can get all the info they need about your company.
Use Great Photos
Speaking of photos, you’ve got ample opportunity to show off your products or your location. There’s the banner image at the top, which is what people see when first landing on your G+ page. You can also include your logo as your avatar, which helps with branding.
And then on your updates, you can share images and videos, so make sure to take advantage of that.
Link Out
If you’ve got a presence on other social sites, include links to those on your G+ profile. This will encourage people to connect on the platforms they prefer. You can also link to any sites where you publish content, such as your own blog or others you guest post on.
Map it Out
If you have a brick-and-mortar location, make sure your address is entered correctly so you’ll appear on Google Maps. This is huge, since so many people use this map from their phones to find businesses! Check to make sure the pin on the map looks accurate for your location.
Start Sharing
Once your profile is fully filled out, use G+ to regularly connect with your fans and offer them tantalizing content. Share company news, links your followers will be interested in, and just generally start conversations with them.
You can add people to your Circles, and you can segment circles based on interests so that your shares are always targeted to the right group.
Google + is becoming more popular for local businesses to be found, so make sure what potential customers are finding is appealing and will encourage them to visit you.
