  7. Why did you decide to start your own business? How did you get into your particular business? (i.e., saw a market need, discovered my passion, found a partner, etc.) I ran a home childcare centre for 9 years and knew that once my children were in school full time I would want to do something different. I also knew that I didn’t want to go back to working for someone else after being my own boss for so many years. I’ve always been a “neat freak” and love to organize and beautify spaces. I decided to follow my passion for working with others and put my talents to use.

  10. How long have you been in business? It will be 2 years this summer.
  11. How did you raise the start-up cash? From my own savings and a loan from my fantastic mom.
  12. Identify and discuss a few lessons you’ve learned as an entrepreneur? Trust your gut, learn as much as you can, be open to many new ideas and don’t let the bad times get you down. Planning, goal setting and dreams are what will get you through it.
  13. What advice would you give to an aspiring entrepreneur? Get networking! You will find a wealth of information from others who are going through the same situations. You can also make great connections, receive and give referrals and get known in your community.
  14. Briefly, what are your goals and plans for the future? To grow the company and have more organizers working for me and to expand my service area.
  15. Any other information or advice you’d like to share? Don’t expect everything to happen right away. I heard a quote the other day that I thought was so true ” Adopt the pace of nature….her secret is patience”
